Beer Selection – Draft
Cornholio – Craft Malt Liquor
Specialty ingredients: Heirloom varieties of red, white, and blue corn grown in PA and Ohio courtesy of CNC Malt: More Information on CNC Malt.
ABV: 6.2% IBU: 20 Hops: Warrior
A 90’s throwback. Malt Liquor gets its signature flavor from using a lot of corn. We did America by using red, white, and blue corn grown locally, but you won’t need TP for your bunghole because malt liquor will not make you go #2. We took the recipe for a malt liquor but used good ingredients and lengthy cold-aging so it tastes better than what you are used to drinking from 40s. That malt liquor was made the cheapest and fastest way possible
Cyclops – Belgian Wit
ABV 5% – 13 IBU
Named after the Cy-town area of Titusville.
A light and refreshing Belgian wheat beer with high carbonation, oats for a soft mouthfeel and some fresh spices. Lemon peels and a hint of crushed coriander were used to gently spice this beer and add a citrus note. Goes down easy but with a lot of flavor.
83 Light – American Light Lager
ABV: 4.3%, IBU: 11, Hops: Williamette
Straw pale and lightly hopped, this is an easy-drinking classic American beer. Perfect for tailgates & lawn maintenance, backyards & BBQs, or hanging out with us at Fat Chad’s all evening. Grainy and cracker-like, this is the beer that tastes like beer. Pairs best with burgers but will pair with anything as a palate cleanser.
Drake’s Revenge – Belgian Tripel
ABV: 9.2%, IBU: 38, Hops: Hallertau
We are serving this as a 12 oz pour carbonated highly with a thick collar of head. A light, refreshing and effervescent style of beer given its alcohol strength. Despite its high IBU, this is not a hoppy beer at all. This uses the same Belgian yeast as our Cyclops Wit. Try em both for a deeper appreciation for the complexity of Belgian yeast. DISCLAIMER: It’s easy to get out of hand with this one so exercise caution. It hides its alcohol very well.
Shell Shock Bock – Double Bock
ABV: 7.5%, IBU: 25, Hops: Warrior, Williamette
This is a deep amber German lager with full bodied malt flavor. It’s like a Shell or High Water on steroids. This one’s definitely a winter warmer. This beer is boiled for 4 hours instead of the usual 90 minutes to caramelize the wort for a flavor you just can’t get from specialty malts. The long boil also contributes to the higher alcohol content.
Gobblin – Oak Aged Imperial Stout
ABV: 11%, IBU:30, Hops: Michigan-grown Magnum
We’re very proud of this first anniversary beer, Gobblin Imperial Stout. As dark as the crude oil below us and aged on toasted oak barrel staves, this big and bold Imperial stout is like nothing we have ever done at Fat Chad’s. We put a lot of time, thought, and effort into this beer. For starters, the hops used in this beer were hand-selected from the 2022 harvest by our brewmaster from a farm in Northport, MI. But we can’t forget that hops are not the main event in this beer. The fresh roasted grains darken it but we are mystified by the smooth velvety texture. Taste the complex roasted malts but not the burnt coffee that burdens other stouts. This is dry enough not to be cloying and sweet enough to be silky and smooth. Age will only bring more oak character and mellow the malt complexities.
This beer is served directly from a tank downstairs that has toasted oak barrel staves soaking on the entire batch. The alcohol in the beer strips flavors from the wood the same way bourbon does. The staves have been there for months, but this beer will take on more and more oak character as time moves on. The pillowy dark brown head lingers because this beer is naturally carbonated with the CO2 from its own fermentation.
We have also filled 100 individually-numbered, wax-dipped 22oz bottles of this beer. These are only available at our sole location in Titusville, PA and when they are gone, they are gone. We may never make this beer again. Our 2nd anniversary may be a completely different beer. Wax-dipped bottles will age well under good conditions for 5 or more years so pick up a few and throw them in the cellar a while.
Hoppy Endings – Hazy IPA
ABV: 6.4%, IBU: 55, Hops: Australian Vic Secret, Citra, Calypso
Generous amounts of Idaho 7 , Citra, and Caylpso hops are added to this hazy IPA toward the end of the brewing process to keep the delicate hop flavors from being boiled away. The result is an IPA bursting with flavors of lime, grapefruit, and orange…not pinecones! Tons of oats and malted wheat balance the aggressive hop flavors to create a juicy and drinkable IPA. This will compliment our Spicy Ahi Tuna appetizer.
Crafty Blueberry- Fruited Lager
ABV: 4.3%, IBU: 11, Hops: Willamette
A light and refreshing fruity beer. This a clean beer (clean = NOT sour).
Church Run Mud – Oatmeal Stout *kicked for now
ABV: 5.7% IBU: 30 Hops: Warrior, Williamette
Dark Roasted Barley and wheat provide a dark color as well as flavor and aroma of coffee and chocolate. To balance it out, we used lightly toasted malted oats for a milky smooth background. This stout is robust but intended not to weigh you down. Named for the flood and the mud of 2021 flood of Church Run.
2 Valves – Hefeweizen
ABV: 5.5% IBU: 13 Hops: Williamette
This is a cloudy, traditional German Hefeweizen notable for flavors of bananas and clove. Bursting with flavor but maintaining a light body, these flavors come solely from the yeast. No fruit or spice is ever added. This is a very easy-drinking beer with almost no hop presence and a pillowy collar of head. Our version purposely leans more on the side of banana flavor than clove
Black Mamba – Black Lager
ABV: 7.2% IBU: 25 Hops: Warrior, Williamette
We present you a flavorful black lager to warm your bones in the winter. It’s malty but not as roasted and coffee-like as a stout. Lager yeast has a neutral flavor that allows the specialty malt flavors to be the showcase.
Hard Seltzer
ABV: 5.25%, Hops: none
We had a lot of requests from customers to make a hard seltzer, so we did! The result is light and refreshing hard seltzer. We’ll be experimenting with different flavors. We currently have Black Cherry with Blood Orange on deck. Come in and let us know which ones you like so we can make a big batch. Be on the lookout for our Jolly Rancher seltzers coming soon!
